Welcome to Gileston Manor
Our estate boasts many different magnificent features, with gardens appealing to Horticulturists of all genres. The estate is home to many rare and unique plant collections from across the world. Our passion for plants and gardens is at the heart of our estate. Whether your passion is for herbaceous borders, woodland gardens, winding paths, water features, to Formal Rose gardens or Japanese gardens, we have it all, a true plant persons place.
The garden team at Gileston Manor have been busy planting and propagating our many varieties of spring bulbs. Tulips, Narsicuss, and Galanthus to name a few. With the many thousands already in the ground, to the thousand planted this year, our gardens will make an excellent display this spring. Our ancient wisteria is a must see and the vine covers the entirety of our Manor House, flowering profusely from April, the vast number of flowers and strong fragrance is truly majestic.
Our year-round tours of our 11-acre estate offer a chance to see our gardens in full bloom. With seasonal highlights such as the Allium collection in May, Rose collections in June, HaHas in July, Tropical gardens in August, and Dahlia collections and Japanese gardens with Acer collections in September to October. Led by me, the Head Gardener, the tour covers the history of the estate since 1320. Our plant varieties from different eras, future plans, and visits to ancient outbuildings, the lake, temple, and the Georgian Manor House. Afternoon tea and cake are included, and you can revisit the gardens on your own and purchase plants from our collections.
All are welcome, and we look forward to your visit.
