it was Love at first sight!

but the path of true love didn’t run smooth when the pandemic threw Bryony & Jethro’s wedding plans up in the air…

Our day was far from what we had originally imagined, but it ended up being so much more…

We originally planned a large wedding at a venue in Cardiff. We had everything planned, right down to the final details – unfortunately, Covid arrived and our plans came to a halt! We cancelled our date twice as a result of the lockdowns, both times we felt as though 2020 wouldn’t be our year.

when cancelling the wedding we lost our excitement for the day we had planned and we knew we needed to change our vision

We fell in love with the magic that Gileston offered, the moment we arrived we knew it would be the most perfect place to share our commitment to each other.

Determined to become Mr & Mrs in 2020,  Bryony & Jethro not only changed their wedding venue but decided on a completely different wedding altogether.

” We have a large group of family and friends with some being across the other side of the world, and felt it would have been too difficult to choose a limited guest list for our wedding, so we made the decision to have a small  Runaway Wedding  at Gileston Manor “

We had the chance to focus on what meant the most – getting married!

The setting at Gileston Manor is perfect, there is so much charm to the venue which added to the magic of our day.

We met at work, and after our very first meeting I turned to a friend and said ‘I’m going marry that guy’, and I was right!

Jethro proposed on our holiday in Spain. One evening, in a quiet marina whilst watching the sun setting, he popped the question! – it turned out I had been carrying the engagement ring around in my handbag with me all evening , I had no idea…

we planned for a long engagement but a year and a half later we were married!

the magic of Gileston Manor gave us a day we will never forget!

“We are so appreciative of the help that Sue, Wendy & Lorraine (the Gileston wedding team) gave us – if it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t have been able to pull off planning our wedding in just 2 months!”

thank you to Bryony & Jethro for sharing your story, and to Ana Parker for the beautiful photography
